ABOUT BIZY DOES IT.Living in a small rural community where life centers around Lake Superior and the natural beauty of the area, it's challenging to make a living, support a family, and thrive. We utilize creative skills and ever-expanding knowledge in a way that teaches and mentors as much as it provides a service or end-product to minority-owned businesses, events, and causes that are seeking to make a positive impact in their community. All while leaving flexibility in schedule and work-flow so that we can enjoy the work/life balance.
My Background // I've been in the design and print business since 1997, and self-employed since April 2013. My bachelors degree in art from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire sparked many years of real world experience. Skills in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, the various Microsoft Office Suite Professional products, and a great many apps keep my process fresh and fast. All this knowledge pairs well with my fine arts education of painting, drawing and sculpting. As a former volunteer and President of the Washburn Area Chamber of Commerce, I deepened my relationships with the local business community to strengthen opportunites for artists & makers. Currently I'm pursuing a working artist print studio in Downtown Ashland. I believe artists and makers need a place to gather, dream, and create all manner of art and providing a retail space for cool people to support us always helps.
My Ideal Clients // Anyone crazy about printed projects! I am happiest working with clients who have an idea of what they need and why they want it. Many of my best clients return for future projects, they trust my eye for design and think of me as their in-house designer. I have a knack for knowing what you need, in case you're not quite sure.
Communications // Using emails for all details of our projects, where quantities, paper choices, budgets...keeps important information accessible for later reference. Phone calls and texts are great for conversations and planning, as well as quick communications to keep the project rolling. Happy to video chat! Face-to-face generates goodwill and fosters a real sense of team. In-person is the best, isn't it? I always love a happy hour meeting! |
